Saturday, October 25, 2025, is a busy day in Stafford. Before Trick-or-Treat on Main kicks off in the afternoon, the West Stafford (WSS) and Stafford Elementary Schools (SES) PTO are hosting a Monster Dash Kids Fun Run and Family Day from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the high school track. This year marks the first time the PTO is hosting this event as a fun, end-of-fundraiser celebration for students, families, and the local community.

While the fundraiser is tied to WSS and ESS, students from surrounding towns are also welcome to participate in the event!

The PTO's goal is to raise $15,000 to help fund field trips, field day, and other enrichment activities. Participation is easy: families register their child, share their fundraising page, and students can earn fun prizes at the individual, classroom, grade, and school levels. Prizes include:

  • A prize bin

  • 3D-printed animals donated by Simon Says

  • Stuffed animal days

  • Extra recess

  • A movie day

  • The chance to pie the principal, SRO Middleton, or Superintendent Scott Sugarman!

Event Details: We’ve scheduled time slots for different age groups, and students are encouraged to wear costumes (must be child-friendly — no masks, accessories, swords, etc.). Sneakers are required to participate in the fun run.

Important: All fun run participants sign a waiver (https://forms.gle/XPerhXbQMSTuxzku9) in order to take part. We’re also seeking volunteers to dress in costume or inflatable suits to run with the students or cheer them on from the sidelines (no need to run). A DJ will MC the event, keeping kids engaged with fun prompts like hopping, skipping, dancing, freeze motions, and more.

Volunteer Sign-Up: If you'd like to help out, you can sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B4AADAC2DA7FFC25-58266709-back

Sensory-Friendly Time Slot: We’re offering a sensory-friendly session for students with sensory sensitivities or disabilities. During this time, music will be kept at a lower volume, and there will be fewer participants on the track to create a calmer, more inclusive environment.

Additional Activities Include:

  • Temporary tattoos

  • Raffle prizes

  • Outdoor games provided by the Stafford Library

  • Kona Ice

  • And more!

The Stafford High Booster Club will also be running the food booth during the event, and they’ll keep 100% of the proceeds to support student athletes.

We’re incredibly grateful to our local business sponsors for helping make this event possible!
