Go for a CT Trails Day Hike at Denis Pond

June 7, 2025, is CT Trails Day, and the Stafford Conservation Commission invites you to explore the beauty of the Dennis Pond Conservation Area during a memorable CT Trails Day hike.
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Location: Dennis Pond Conservation Area, 5 Ice House Road, Stafford Springs, CT
The Connecticut Forest and Park Association organizes CT Trails Day. In Stafford, you can take a walk on the Beaver Trail with Arlene Avery, a long-time Stafford resident and Connecticut Master Naturalist student, as your guide, along with other members of the Stafford Conservation Commission. This family-friendly, educational hike will focus on the rich biodiversity of Dennis Pond, with highlights including identification of local flora, fauna, and funga.
The Beaver Trail is mostly flat, with one section featuring a steep ascent. A bypass route is available for those who wish to avoid this area. Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed at all times. Light snacks and drinks will be available at the gazebo following the hike.
Come enjoy the outdoors, learn about local ecosystems, and celebrate Connecticut's trail network with your neighbors. No registration required – just bring your curiosity and love for nature!
