Letter to the Editor: Invested in quality education

I have served on the Board of Education in the past, and I know how effective it can be

when we have dedicated people on the board invested in quality education for our

students. This year, there are four open seats on the BOE that must be filled by

competent, thinking, and caring people.

I believe these townspeople, Kathy Bachiochi, Liz Dobson, James Greene, and Jen

Vail, who are running for the BOE, are the kind of Stafford residents that we desperately

need.

We do not want anyone who desires to ban books or decide what is being taught in the

classrooms against the wishes of the teachers and administration. Our schools must

encourage kids to learn how to survive in our society, who later might even serve our

community.

Our BOE must encourage our students to become life-long learners. These four

candidates will certainly do that. As board members, they will ensure that Stafford

students will be able to converse with people in all walks of life and think logically about

problems brought before them.

These four dedicated, experienced candidates will be able to correct the disconnect

between the BOE and those that are supposed to serve and support our young people.

They all have college degrees and long years of experience helping our kids to become

strong and thoughtful members of our community. Kathy Bachiochi, Liz Dobson, James

Greene, and Jen Vail will indeed serve us well.

Sincerely,

Barbara Frassinelli
