Stafford Residents Help Hurricane Victims

It's been a few weeks since the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene played out on our screens, but for those who were impacted by the storm, the struggle continues. A few Stafford residents have gotten together to do something about it and need your help.

Susan Fisher says she has been following Cajun Navy Relief on Facebook and was impressed by their work to help hurricane victims. Feeling compelled to do something, she decided to collect donations with the help of other Stafford residents. Greg Cyr volunteered to pay for a storage unit where the donations can be stored, and Kurth Brothers will drive the items down to a collection point for Cajun Navy Relief.

How can you help? They're glad you asked.

Bring donations to Stafford Storage, unit 618, (40 West Stafford Road) between noon and 3 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday until November 24.

Here is a list of items that are most needed:

  • Generators

  • Chainsaws

  • Propane camping stoves

  • Utensils for cooking

  • Winter coats

  • Hats

  • Sleeping bags for 20 degrees

  • Diapers for all ages, including adults

  • Clothing (new or like new)
