Stafford to Celebrate Levinthal Run Multi-Use Path with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

This is a press release.

The Town of Stafford is pleased to announce the official opening of the Levinthal Run Multi-Use Path on Thursday, September 4, 2025, a long-awaited infrastructure improvement that will provide a safe, accessible, and scenic space for walking, running, biking, and recreation. The celebration will feature a program of remarks beginning at 12:00 p.m., with the ribbon cutting to follow.

The new, 1-mile concrete trail directly connects the Stafford High School and Stafford Middle School and is equipped with fitness stations along the way. The project transforms one of Stafford’s most heavily used pedestrian routes, a corridor previously shared by pedestrians, vehicles, and school buses. Now, both students and residents alike will benefit from a safer and more thoughtfully designed path that strengthens connections, promotes healthy lifestyles, and enhances community well-being.

While the text of this article is from a press release, Stafford Free Press took these pictures during a walk earlier this summer.

Elected officials, state departments, municipal and school staff, regional planning organizations, project partners, and residents are all invited to attend this celebration of progress and community spirit. Guests are asked to utilize the Stafford Library parking lot at 10 Levinthal Run for event parking.

This significant community improvement was made possible through funding from the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Transportation Rural Improvement Program (TRIP) and from the Town of Stafford’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Recovery Funds
