Stafford explores moving Flo’s Friendship Kitchen to Community Center

During the informational section of the August 5, 2026 Board of Selectmen (BOS) meeting, First Selectmen Bill Morrison spoke about an important potential change to Congregate Meals at the Community Center. During the budget process this year, the program was cut and then temporarily saved by a donation from American Sleeve Bearing. But a longer-term solution could be in the works. 

Flo’s Friendship Kitchen has approached the Town about moving its free meals programs from the church to the Community Center. The kitchen would need to be modified to make it possible to serve more meals, but would “come at no cost” to the Town, according to Morrison..

“It’s great idea. Bring them all together,” said Selectman Tony Armelin. 

“They do a good job over there,” said Selectman Tim Cromwell. 

While the idea is just at the discussion stage, Morrison said they are working toward another meeting.
